ADHD Coaching / Counselling for Teens and Young Adults

What Is Coaching?

Coaching is a supportive, forward focused process that helps people figure out what is getting in their way and how to move through it. Coaching focuses on helping to build real life skills, like planning ahead, staying organized, and managing stress.

What Is ADHD Coaching?

ADHD coaching is a specialized form of coaching designed for individuals with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It helps clients better understand their unique brains and develop skills to manage the challenges that often come with ADHD such as difficulty with organization, time management, focus, motivation, and follow-through.

ADHD coaching is specifically designed for individuals who think and learn differently. Teens and young adults with ADHD often know what they need to do, but they struggle with the how. We will work with them on how to get started, how to stay focused, and how to follow through.

It’s not about fixing but rather working together to find strategies that fit their brain and their life.

How Can ADHD Coaching Help?

Adolescents and young adults with ADHD often experience frustration and overwhelm when trying to manage school, relationships, and daily responsibilities. We work together to build practical tools and routines that make daily life feel more manageable.

Here are some things coaching can support:

  • Academic success: Developing routines, tackling procrastination, managing deadlines, and building study habits that work with the ADHD brain.
  • Organization: Creating systems that make sense, not just what “should” work.
  • Time management: Learning to plan ahead, set reminders, and build in time for breaks.
  • Daily routines: Helping with transitions, chores, self-care, and screen time boundaries.
  • Emotional support: Understanding emotions, learning to self-advocate, and handling frustration more effectively.
  • Confidence and independence: Helping teens and young adults build ownership over their responsibilities and recognize their unique strengths.

A Collaborative, Strengths-Based Approach

In our coaching sessions, we work together to set meaningful goals, explore practical strategies, and reflect on what is working and what is not working. The goal is progress, not perfection. We will help you find real sustainable ways to function and thrive with ADHD.

At this time, our coaching services support teens and young adults under the age of 25. While we can support a range of life challenges, our coaching is especially helpful for students navigating school-related stress. High school and college/university students often find the most benefit, as we focus on strategies to manage academic demands, build routines, and stay on track both in and outside the classroom.

Is Coaching Covered by Insurance?

Our ADHD Coach, Terra, is a Registered Psychologist who is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Therapeutic services provided by registered psychologists are typically covered by insurance.
